Street Dance

This year, the Engelhard Seafood Festival Street Dance is being held in partnership with Martelle's Feedhouse Restaurant! The featured entertainer is Spare Change. Music and merriment will begin around 8:00 pm. You can visit Spare Change's web site at www.sparechangemusic.net .

Rubber Duckie Race


Lost Colony Demonstrations

Full day of demonstrations, interactive workshops and lectures to acquaint the public with the newest methods being used to search for the Lost Colonists. These workshops will explore multiple theories, both old and new, about their fate.

The use of space age images from new remote sensing data, such as satellite optics and airborne radar, will be presented. Croatan Indian sites are being sought with these new remote sensing technologies.

Character Visits

Attention Kids!! Come have a picture made and chat with your favorite character. Attending this year’s festival for the first time will be Shrek, Fiona, Cinderella, Snow White, and Black Beard!


Mechanical Bull Ride

Ever wonder if you could ride a bull for 8 seconds?

Come to the festival and find out. 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm


Water Wars

The ultimate water balloon game. You might get sprinkled, sprayed, or saturated, but watch out, retaliation comes quickly....!


Scavenger Hunt

Find hidden “treasures” at the Seafood Festival. $5 to enter the hunt. $100 Cash given to the winner!!


Painting Live: Ocean Wave

A painting workshop that will be held at Lake Landing Realty. Watch an ocean wave painted in acrylic. The artist will describe the method and will answer art questions as she paints this beautiful seascape.


Gyotoko: Fish Printing

A painting workshop that will be held at Lake Landing Realty. Gyotoko is an ancient Japanese art form. Its original purpose was to record the type and size of the fisherman’s catch. The fish was coated with a thin layer of carbon ink. Rice paper was then laid on top and carefully pressed onto the fish’s body ending with the print.

The Gyotoko workshop will be given using colorful acrylic paints and rubber fish replicas. Students may bring a t-shirt or a piece of paper will be provided.
